Gökhan Avcıoğlu is an award-winning Turkish architect, interior designer, and founder of GAD Architecture. He was born in Istanbul in 1969 and graduated from the Istanbul Technical University's Faculty of Architecture in 1992. He then received his master’s degree from the Pratt Institute in New York.
Avcıoğlu's architectural projects have been recognized nationally and internationally. He has won numerous awards, including the Middle East Architect Award for Residential Project of the Year in 2018 for the Istinye Residence, Best Future Residential Building in MIPIM Awards for Istanbul Park in 2019, and many others.
He is known for his minimalist and contemporary designs, with a preference for using natural materials such as stone, wood, and steel. He has completed a wide range of projects including residential buildings, office buildings, cultural centers, and mixed-use complexes in Turkey and other countries.
Aside from his work as an architect, Avcıoğlu is a visiting lecturer at various universities and has spoken at several conferences and events. He is also a member of various architectural associations and serves as an editor for several architecture magazines.
